Job Summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Preconstruction Estimator to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will provide estimating, benchmarking, and commercial management services on a global technology client's massive data center construction program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, with experience in mission-critical, pharma, industrial, or life science sectors. Data center construction experience is highly desirable. You will be responsible for developing project capital estimates using a bottoms-up approach, leading the training of templates and tools for the general contractor, and providing detailed comparative analysis of commercial submittals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert estimating services for hyperscale data centers from RFP through to construction completion.
  • Develop Project Capital Estimates using a bottoms-up approach.
  • Lead the training of templates & tools for the general contractor to ensure submissions are compliant for commercial analysis.
  • Provide detailed comparative analysis of commercial submittals from the general contractor.
  • Lead the commercial review of the competitive bid process for major trades.
  • Support the project delivery team with post-contract cost analysis & change order reviews.
  • Benchmarking integration to ensure accurate data capture.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated estimating experience including time spent in mission-critical, pharma, industrial, or life science sectors.
  • Data Center construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Confident reviewing Mechanical and/or Electrical Subcontract packages and buyout.
  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, and/or field-related experience.
  • Excellent communicator and thrives in a client-facing role.
  • Technical knowledge of construction industry matters, such as value management and value engineering.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to adapt messaging to suit the recipients.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this full-time role is $105K-$180 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
