Position Summary:
The Head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) plays a crucial role within our technology infrastructure team, tasked with maintaining exceptional levels of reliability, scalability, and performance. This leadership position will define the vision and strategic direction for a talented SRE team, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the IT Infrastructure division while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    Formulate and execute a robust SRE strategy that aligns with the objectives of the IT Infrastructure team and the broader company goals.
  • Guide the SRE team by establishing clear objectives and expectations, while providing mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Oversee systems that ensure the availability of our infrastructure ecosystem, including cloud services and internal tools.
  • Guarantee the team's comprehensive understanding of system architecture, covering Kubernetes, OpenShift, and the entire product delivery stack.
  • Team Management:
    Direct the SRE team, ensuring effective resource allocation and prioritization of initiatives.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices in incident management and post-incident reviews.
  • Incident Management:
    Lead the response to significant infrastructure incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and measures to prevent future incidents and enhance system resilience.
  • Communications:
    Communicate the value and achievements of the SRE team to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Encourage a transparent communication culture within the team and across the organization.
  • Collaborate with shared infrastructure services teams to establish productive partnerships and consistent SRE practices across the company.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in large-scale system engineering and administration, particularly with cloud-based infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a talent for inspiring and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Technical leadership experience, including collaboration and managing complex, mission-critical initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and hands-on experience with OpenShift for orchestrating containerized applications.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and/or Argo CD or similar technologies.
  • Proven track record in agile service delivery methodologies focused on iterative improvement.
Education & Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, system administration, or reliability engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • A history of managing complex infrastructure projects and leading incident response efforts.
