About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef de Partie I to lead our pastry department and oversee the preparation and execution of all pastry dishes. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards and consistency in our pastry offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the pastry department, including supervising and training pastry cooks and ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menus, ensuring they meet our high standards and are aligned with our culinary vision.
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to create innovative and delicious pastry dishes that showcase our creativity and expertise.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, ordering, and storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for pastry cooks, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Conduct daily quality control checks to ensure consistency and quality in our pastry offerings.
  • Work closely with our management team to develop and implement strategies to drive sales and revenue growth in our pastry department.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a pastry chef or in a related role.
  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of pastry production, including baking, decorating, and presentation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience as a lead pastry chef or in a related role.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
