Overview:

Fintech Executive Search Consultants is seeking a seasoned Financial Leadership Executive to join a rapidly expanding private fintech payments and neo banking organization. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader who can navigate and enhance the financial frameworks that support the company's growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of contemporary accounting practices and trends, along with a proven track record in capital acquisition and collaboration with senior financial partners. As a key member of the executive team, the Financial Leadership Executive will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategies and ensuring effective communication across all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to create efficient budget proposals, facilitate access to financial project data, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and timely reporting.
  • Investigate revenue potential and economic patterns, assess internal operations, and pinpoint opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Conduct risk management assessments through thorough analysis of company liabilities and investments, while evaluating and managing the capital structure.
  • Oversee human resources functions by coordinating with external service providers (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal personnel responsible for various HR aspects.
  • Track business performance using analytical tools, implement corrective actions as necessary, and prepare comprehensive reports for monthly and quarterly financial reviews with the management team and board.
  • Lead finance personnel and manage financial IT systems, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory standards (e.g., Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state regulations).
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the company's objectives. Provide strategic insights to the CEO and executive team regarding financial matters.
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Supervise the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and models. Perform financial analyses to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities, offering recommendations to enhance financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Guarantee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Cash Flow Oversight: Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital. Devise strategies to optimize cash flow and mitigate financial risks.
  • Risk Management: Identify and evaluate financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks. Implement strategies and controls to protect the company's assets and maintain financial stability.
  • Investor Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee financial operations, including accounting, taxation, treasury, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to produce timely and compliant annual audited financial statements.
  • Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a CFO or in a senior finance leadership role within the fintech sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of fintech payments and neo banking business models, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional financial planning, analysis, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, investor relations, and managing relationships with financial institutions.
  • Strong grasp of financial operations, including accounting principles, taxation, and internal controls.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
