Job Overview

Salary: Negotiable

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of management, the Heating Fuel Transport Driver is tasked with delivering home heating oil to our terminal safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid CDL with appropriate endorsements, including Hazmat and tanker.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and hold a current medical certification.
  • Must have a valid TWIC card.
  • Pass a Federal Homeland Security background check.
  • Exhibit good health and physical fitness.
  • Ability to comply with periodic DOT mandated random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Capable of understanding and following simple instructions.
  • Willingness to collaborate within a team setting.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Demonstrate pride in workmanship.

Key Duties:

  1. Collect loads as directed by management.
  2. Conduct pre-trip inspections in line with DOT regulations and company policies.
  3. Ensure the vehicle is clean and that all fluids are maintained at appropriate levels.
  4. Foster positive relationships and adhere to operational practices at all terminals utilized.
  5. Report any accidental oil discharge immediately, containing spills to prevent spreading, especially near storm drains or water runoff areas.
  6. Drive in a defensive, safe, and professional manner, adhering to State, Federal, and DOT regulations.
  7. Participate in scheduled training sessions and reviews as instructed by management.
  8. Support and uphold corporate policies as outlined in the employee manual.
  9. Submit completed paperwork daily.
  10. Take responsibility for company-assigned equipment, vehicles, credit cards, and communication devices.
  11. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  12. Work hours are determined by management; year-round drivers typically receive 40 hours per week, including duties beyond driving.

Seasonal Hours: Generally from 8 AM to 4:30 PM unless otherwise agreed. Drivers may leave once deliveries are completed with prior approval from dispatch or management. Seasonal hours will vary based on demand.

Overall Objective:

The Heating Fuel Transport Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of home heating fuel from various vendors and terminals to our storage tanks.
