Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ironworker to join our team as a Heavy Civil Construction Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely positioning and uniting steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with and actively promote all Safety policies and procedures, including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members, using cranes and hand signals.
- Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections as needed.
- Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torqueing.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with layout, connecting, and rigging.
- Ability to work at all heights.
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret symbols, and abbreviations on plans and drawings.
- Prior rigging experience, including knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection, and proper use.
- NCCER certification is a plus.
