Position: Tax Intern - Specializing in Credits, Incentives & Accounting Methods

Role Overview

As an intern at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of companies, from small businesses to large corporations across various sectors. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients by gaining a deep understanding of their operations and challenges.

As part of our Credits and Incentives team, specifically focusing on Accounting Methods, your responsibilities will encompass two primary areas: enhancing your technical and quality skills while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tax planning and research concerning various factors influencing the timing of income or deductions.
  • Gain insights into clients' businesses and industries to identify potential tax planning strategies.
  • Support the execution of multiple projects concurrently, including client interviews, data collection, analysis, calculations, and preparation of tax documents.
  • Document relevant facts and positions and draft other technical memoranda.
  • Communicate effectively and respond promptly to both internal and external inquiries to facilitate the success of engagements.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and by obtaining additional certifications.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completion of 90 credit hours.
  • Pursuing a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Major in Accounting.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as necessary, with reliable transportation.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
