POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Program Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming and respectful environment that encourages the growth of young individuals and provides enriching experiences for families.

This role involves the comprehensive organization, planning, and execution of quality After School and School Age Camp initiatives. Operating independently under the guidance of the Director, the Supervisor is tasked with overseeing program management, which includes recruitment, training, scheduling of staff, curriculum development, program innovation, and ensuring quality across all locations. A strong passion for youth, high energy levels, and excellent management capabilities are essential, along with the ability to navigate the unique challenges presented by a non-profit service organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff, volunteers, and contractors as necessary, while evaluating performance and overseeing payroll.
  2. Develop and oversee program budgets to align with financial objectives.
  3. Complete necessary paperwork and manage billing for enrolled participants.
  4. Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and child care licensing requirements.
  5. Assist in marketing efforts and manage program registration processes, including scholarship applications.
  6. Coordinate facility scheduling and safety for program activities and events.
  7. Oversee food programs to provide nutritious snacks and meals for participants.
  8. Engage in fundraising initiatives and special events organized by the YMCA.
  9. Foster positive relationships with youth and staff, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  10. Participate actively in staff meetings and training sessions.
  11. Implement and innovate programming that incorporates core values, character development, and various educational activities.
  12. Work towards achieving enrollment and departmental goals.
  13. Address and resolve issues with parents and families as they arise.
  14. Manage transportation schedules for after school programs, ensuring compliance and safety.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within the first month of employment.

  • Proven success in program management and innovation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical demands may include extended periods of computer use and communication via electronic devices.

  • Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate noise levels are typical in the work environment.
