The Universal Banker plays a vital role in delivering outstanding in-branch customer service by addressing a wide range of client needs, from teller transactions to sales and service inquiries. This position involves making referrals to other business lines to effectively meet the comprehensive banking and financial requirements of our clients. The Universal Banker will act as the primary contact for clients looking to open deposit accounts for both retail and commercial purposes. Additionally, this role supports the Consumer Banking team by facilitating loan account documentation. This multifaceted position requires an understanding of the connection between client service operations and the broader objectives of the organization. The Universal Banker will also assist colleagues in their efforts to contribute to the bank's overall success.
Key Responsibilities (95%):
Client Service Duties (60%):
- Exhibit strong sales capabilities by proactively engaging clients and networks to support organizational objectives.
- Understand the significance of delivering high-quality service in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner to all branch visitors.
- Effectively communicate with clients to ascertain their needs and utilize skills and resources to refer them to the appropriate departments. Identify service opportunities using core platforms and client profiles.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all banking products and services available.
- Provide timely feedback on new products and services that could benefit clients and enhance the bank's growth and profitability.
- Address customer fraud issues in accordance with established procedures.
- Resolve customer complaints by offering suitable solutions.
- Ensure confidentiality of client and bank information.
- Complete all designated client care responsibilities.
- May be assigned to other branches as needed to meet staffing requirements and cover various retail roles.
- Generate accurate account documents that comply with banking and governmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate client and account information.
- Provide processing support as needed for Consumer Bankers.
- Prepare documentation for Consumer Banking team meetings with loan clients.
- Open and manage IRA and HSA deposit accounts in accordance with banking and regulatory guidelines.
- Accurately process client transaction requests in line with established best practices, including cash withdrawals, loan payments, official checks, mail deposits, and safe deposit access.
- Adhere to bank policies and procedures for compliance related to the position's functions. Complete all required annual compliance training.
- Understand and comply with all relevant Bank Secrecy Act/OFAC/CIP policies and procedures. Complete annual training and identify new clients while establishing expected behavior patterns through customer profiles.
- Complete BVS assignments as necessary.
- Contribute to maintaining the professional appearance of the bank and work areas.
- Serve as backup for client service operations during peak periods, if available.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors related to the bank's functions.
- Participate in client functions and community service events as a representative of the bank.
- High School Diploma with experience in banking or a customer service/relationship development role.
- Must be bondable.
