Medical Scribe Specialist

EPIC Health System LLC is seeking a skilled Medical Scribe Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Scribe Specialist, you will work closely with physicians and healthcare providers in an outpatient primary care clinic, assisting with documentation of patient visits in real time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Support: Accurately document patient encounters, including medical histories, physical exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions during office visits.
- Charting: Enter patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system under the direction of the physician or provider.
- Real-time Transcription: Transcribe physician notes and medical orders into the EHR as dictated by the provider during patient interactions.
- Follow-up Coordination: Assist in the preparation of any required documentation for follow-up visits, referrals, and lab orders.
- Patient Interaction: Provide support during patient exams by gathering and documenting relevant clinical data such as vitals and reviewing the patient's medical history.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient information confidentiality and accuracy.
- Clerical Assistance: Assist the physician or provider with clerical tasks such as preparing charts, managing the workflow of documentation, and organizing patient records.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical transcription or medical assistant training preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Proficient in typing and computer usage, particularly with EHR systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
