Job Summary

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a skilled Behavior Support Technician to support school staff during crisis situations related to student behavior and mental health issues. This role involves conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and collaborating with staff to develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The successful candidate will also implement Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) strategies as needed for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students in crisis situations using CPI strategies
  • Conduct FBAs to identify underlying causes of student behavior
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement BIPs
  • Collect, analyze, and assess data related to student behavior
  • Monitor and provide feedback to staff on BIP implementation
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families. A strong understanding of crisis prevention and intervention strategies, as well as experience working with students with disabilities, is essential.
