Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team at Deborah Heart and Lung Center as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to work with a high-risk patient population and make a meaningful impact on their care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of VAD care for patients in collaboration with the Heart Failure Medical Director.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care throughout the continuum, optimizing clinical, functional, and psychosocial status.
  • Work with the Heart Failure Medical Director to improve patient outcomes through a performance improvement program.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to cardiologists and nursing staff through advanced clinical and experiential skills.
  • Facilitate participation in heart failure and mechanical circulatory support clinical research trials.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of nursing and CV post-surgical management experience.
  • Master's degree or greater from an ANA-accredited School of Nursing.
  • New Jersey License as a Registered Nurse and Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority.
  • Current CDS and DEA required within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Maintenance of required continuing education credits and certifications.
Work Environment

Bi-weekly hours: 80

Work schedule: Monday - Friday
