Job Summary

The Group Leader will be responsible for planning and executing structured group activities for children and adolescents. This role requires strong organizational skills, conflict resolution abilities, and the capacity to work well with others. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth and be sensitive to multicultural settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Coordinator in maintaining policies and procedures of the program.
• Serve as a core staff member and a point person for emergencies.
• Plan, develop, and provide a nurturing, structured, and enriching program of after-school activities for students.
• Perform or assist with various administrative functions of the program.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment for the program.

Requirements

The Group Leader must have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience working with children and youth. Additionally, they must be sensitive to adolescent development issues and have a desire to work with students ages 5 through 18. Successful completion of training in CPR and First Aid is also required. Acceptable FBI and child abuse history clearances are necessary for this position.

Competencies and Personal Characteristics

The ideal candidate will possess solid oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to work well with others. They must also be able to handle conflicts with diplomacy and tact, listen and evaluate objectively, and be sensitive to multicultural settings.
