Position Overview

The Surgical Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the planning, organization, and development of nursing services. This position ensures compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations as defined by the Director of Surgical Services, thereby maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of nursing staff and management of performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct quality control and quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and professional development for nursing personnel.
  • Participate in the evaluation of staff performance in collaboration with the Director.
  • Oversee the orientation and competency assessments of clinical and technical skills.
  • Ensure compliance with licensure requirements and participate in various committees.
  • Assume 24-hour responsibility for surgical services in the absence of the Director.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Montana Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • A minimum of one year of management experience.
  • At least two years of clinical nursing experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • PALS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
