Primary Objective:
The Aviation Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aviation department's aircraft fleet by overseeing all maintenance activities. This role includes managing maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, overseeing budgetary considerations, and maintaining precise maintenance documentation. Collaborating closely with other aviation professionals, the Manager aligns maintenance operations with the organization’s strategic objectives, conducts necessary inspections and maintenance tasks, and works to minimize downtime and costs. This position is vital for upholding the safety and reliability of the corporate aircraft fleet, facilitating seamless business travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: The Maintenance Manager is tasked with ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (FAA, federal, state, and local), standards, and internal policies by staying informed, conducting audits, and implementing corrective measures. This compliance is essential for minimizing accidents, injuries, and legal liabilities.
  • Team Leadership: The Manager oversees maintenance technicians, managing work schedules, providing training, and ensuring that necessary tools and resources are available. They also ensure that the team's qualifications and performance meet established standards and coordinate with senior management on personnel matters.
  • Financial Oversight: The Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring operations are cost-effective, thereby enhancing financial performance.
  • Record Keeping: The Manager maintains accurate records, including logs and schedules, ensuring thorough inspections. Proper documentation supports compliance, historical reference, and effective planning.
  • Maintenance Coordination: The Manager collaborates with scheduling, flight operations, and external maintenance providers to synchronize maintenance activities with organizational objectives, thereby reducing conflicts and miscommunication.
  • Continuous Improvement: The Manager identifies and implements enhancements for efficiency, cost reduction, and safety improvements to optimize overall maintenance operations.
  • Vendor Management: The Manager maintains relationships with vendors through contract management and performance monitoring to ensure high-quality maintenance, reducing the risk of equipment failures and legal issues.
  • Project Management: The Manager oversees maintenance projects, including planning, resource allocation, and ensuring timely completion to minimize downtime and improve aircraft availability.
  • Emergency Preparedness: In emergencies, the Manager coordinates with stakeholders and aviation professionals in accordance with the emergency response plan, safeguarding maintenance records and ensuring effective response strategies.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support business needs and uphold our core values.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in FAR Part 91 maintenance leadership.
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license.
  • Over 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience as an A&P technician, preferably in a corporate aviation setting.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in maintenance.
  • Familiarity with FAA FAR Part 91 operations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate aircraft maintenance, systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong skills in aircraft systems knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Able to manage multiple complex issues across various aircraft simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management and supervisory capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Well-established relationships with vendors and OEMs.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing peer-to-peer relationships.
  • Ability to lead and manage effectively at the executive level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Inspection Authorization (I/A).
  • Master Technician certification.
  • Completion of an aircraft manufacturer's approved initial training program.
