Job Summary:The Physician II will be the primary care provider to the most under-served patients in Orange County while working in a challenging environment. Physicians will provide all urgent and chronic care to the adult population of Orange County Jails, including women's health and prenatal care to obstetric (OB) patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide medical and mental health services effectively while promoting patient safety and improving patient care practices
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and ordering appropriate diagnostic studies
- Supervise, direct, and consult with clinical staff
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Collaborate with healthcare staff and Orange County Sheriff's Department administration to promote quality healthcare delivery to inmates
- Valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate/License number issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California
- Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license for Controlled Substances Level II
- Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
- Basic Life Support for Health Care Professional Card-American Heart Association or approved equivalent provider certification
- DATA (Drug Addiction Treatment Act) waivered DEA license for prescribing Buprenorphine
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, or Other primary care specialty
- Experience working in triage/urgent care, mental health, or correctional medicine type of setting
