Job Title: Physician II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician II to join our team at Orange County CA. As a Physician II, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients in a correctional setting.

Job Summary:

The Physician II will be the primary care provider to the most under-served patients in Orange County while working in a challenging environment. Physicians will provide all urgent and chronic care to the adult population of Orange County Jails, including women's health and prenatal care to obstetric (OB) patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical and mental health services effectively while promoting patient safety and improving patient care practices
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and ordering appropriate diagnostic studies
  • Supervise, direct, and consult with clinical staff
  • Train and develop staff to ensure they understand and follow proper procedures and protocols
  • Diagnose, treat, and control diseases in a sensitive manner
  • Respond and relate well to supervisor by being open to work performance feedback
  • Provide accurate medical records and reports
  • Verbally deescalate violent, aggressive, or destructive behavior safely and effectively, while giving care to clients
Requirements:
  • Valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate/License number issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license for Controlled Substances Level II
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Professional Card-American Heart Association or approved equivalent provider certification
  • DATA (Drug Addiction Treatment Act) waivered DEA (for prescribing Buprenorphine) license number
  • Board Certification in a primary care specialty
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a triage/urgent care, mental health, or correctional setting
  • Experience providing direct patient care within the last year
  • Experience working in a leadership or supervisory role
