Oklahoma Early Childhood Educator

Position Summary
The Educator is tasked with cultivating a unified teaching staff, orchestrating the educational framework, and overseeing the daily operational functions of the classroom. A comprehensive understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth is essential to foster a secure and engaging classroom atmosphere where children are actively involved and motivated to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute educational programs by creating classroom activities aligned with developmentally suitable practices and early learning benchmarks.
- Demonstrate leadership; promote team success through modeling and mentorship.
- Organize individualized and group activities tailored to engage children and support their social, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
- Foster a healthy classroom environment by upholding hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as ensuring the safety and security of children.
- Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Keep precise records, documentation, and files.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional growth plan to ensure ongoing quality enhancement.
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- High energy and the capacity to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents, fostering a cooperative environment.
- A profound understanding of child development principles.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (to be obtained within 90 days of employment).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening.
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, use hands and fingers, manipulate objects, communicate verbally, and respond to various auditory levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Employee Benefits
Sick Leave
Full-time employees will receive 3 days of sick leave after 6 months of continuous employment. A doctor's note is required to validate any sick days taken. Notification to the director is necessary if sick leave is utilized during the current pay period.
Holiday Pay
After 90 days of employment, full-time employees with a CDA, Certificate of Mastery, or Associate in Childcare will be eligible for holiday pay. Other full-time employees will qualify after 1 year of continuous employment.
Vacation Time
After 1 year of continuous employment, full-time employees with a CDA, Certificate of Mastery, or Associate in Childcare will receive 1 week of paid vacation time. Unused paid vacation days will not carry over to the next year.
Simple IRA
The SIMPLE IRA allows employees to contribute through salary deferrals, with the business making matching contributions. Eligibility requires consistent employment for 3 years or more and earning $5,000.00 or more in any two years.
Longevity Bonus
On the anniversary of employment, bonuses will be awarded based on tenure, capped at $300.00.
Remote Work
This position allows for remote work arrangements.
