Position Summary
The Early Childhood Educator is tasked with fostering a collaborative teaching environment, orchestrating the educational framework, and overseeing the daily operational functions of the classroom. A deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth is essential to create a secure and engaging classroom atmosphere where children are actively involved and motivated to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute educational programs by crafting classroom activities that align with developmentally suitable practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Exemplify leadership; promote the success of the teaching team through demonstration and mentorship.
  • Organize individual and group activities that are age-appropriate to stimulate children's social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Uphold a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as ensuring the safety and security of children.
  • Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records, documentation, and files.
  • Develop a personal professional growth plan to ensure ongoing quality enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High energy level and capacity to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid (to be obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, manipulate objects, communicate effectively, and may involve kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Employee Benefits
Sick Leave
Employees will receive 3 days of sick leave after 6 months of continuous employment. A doctor's note is required to validate any sick days taken.
Holiday Pay
Full-time employees with relevant qualifications will receive holiday pay after 90 days of employment, while others will be eligible after 1 year.
Vacation Time
After 1 year of continuous employment, eligible full-time employees will receive 1 week of paid vacation time, which does not carry over to the next year.
Retirement Plan
The SIMPLE IRA allows employees to contribute through salary deferrals, with the company matching contributions after specific eligibility criteria are met.
Longevity Bonus
Employees will receive a bonus on their anniversary date based on their length of service, with a maximum cap of $300.
