Job Summary

AltaPointe Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Specialist Team Leader to join our Adult Residential Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide guidance and support to our Certified Peer Specialists, upholding the principles of recovery-oriented, person-centered, and relationship-focused care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead the peer services program, providing guidance and support to Certified Peer Specialists to ensure they deliver high-quality care and services to our consumers.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, including human resources functions, to ensure the smooth operation of our program.
  • Peer Support and Engagement: Engage with consumers in collaborative caring relationships, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their recovery goals.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement structured activities that promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, and community living skills.
  • Education and Training: Educate consumers about health, wellness, and recovery supports, conducting evidence-based programming such as SAIL and Bingocize.
  • Crisis Intervention: Help consumers manage crises and develop strategies to reduce risks to themselves and others.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of consumer services and progress.
  • Supervision and Consultation: Conduct staff meetings, provide case consultation, and monitor Certified Peer Specialist interactions with consumers and staff.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of leadership experience; current or former recipient of mental health services for at least 1 year with a significant mental health disorder.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, cultural diversity, behavior management, crisis intervention, and psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
  • Certifications: Certified Peer Specialist training and SAIL instructor certification.
