Our dedicated team combines medical, nursing, and therapeutic services to support over 200 adults in need of comprehensive care.
The Adult Residential Services Program includes group homes that are supervised around the clock when residents are present.
The primary goals for each adult group home are:to avert re-hospitalization and to enhance and sustain successful community integration. Our residential care emphasizes the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals with serious mental health conditions.
Responsibilities:
Behavioral Support Specialists in the residential environment are tasked with essential observation and monitoring of residents within the group home. Their duties include daily assessments of resident behavior, providing training on essential living skills, transporting residents to appointments and outings, administering medications, assisting with personal care, and preparing meals for residents.
1. Conduct ongoing monitoring and engagement with residents, including training on essential living skills (ELS) tailored to individual needs and the implementation of behavioral plans as necessary.
2. Meet daily productivity benchmarks through individual and group ELS services.
3. Assist residents with personal care tasks (bathing, toileting, and other hygiene needs), medication management, household chores, and safety protocols.
4. Exhibit flexibility to work at any ARS facility based on staffing requirements.
5. Prepare meals for residents according to individualized dietary needs and maintain inventory of food and household supplies.
6. Recognize crisis situations and proactively engage in de-escalation techniques.
7. Adhere to the Nurse Delegation Program, including recertification obligations.
8. Ensure compliance with the posted household schedule, individual appointments, and planned activities.

10. Model appropriate behaviors, including communication skills, grooming, and etiquette.
11. Collaborate with residents and staff to maintain cleanliness within the home.
12. Provide effective hand-off communication during shift changes and collaborate with treatment team members.
13. Fulfill routine health and safety responsibilities for both the residence and vehicles.
14. Report any accidents or driving infractions to supervisors and human resources.
15. Seek supervision and consultation as needed, and be open to feedback for improvement.
16. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
17. Document services provided in a timely and legible manner, including detailed notes on resident progress and responses to ELS.
18. Treat residents with respect, dignity, and compassion, ensuring their privacy and confidentiality.
19. Be approachable and cooperative with colleagues and visitors.

22. This position allows for self-scheduling, enabling employees to select preferred shifts based on availability six weeks in advance.
Full-time employees are expected to work three 12-hour shifts weekly, including rotating weekends; part-time employees may work 1-2 shifts weekly, while PRN staff are required to work approximately once a month or more as needed.
Preferred shifts serve as a guideline for supervisors to build schedules around employee preferences, though they are not guaranteed and may change based on facility needs.
Overtime may occasionally be required and will be scheduled in advance.
