We operate several educational institutions and programs, including Monarch Academy and Monarch Preschool College Park, and we are recognized as a leading child-serving organization in the Greater Baltimore/Washington area. Role of the Preschool Educator

Monarch Preschool College Park offers a high-quality, project-based learning environment for children aged 3-5. Our program emphasizes active engagement, where spaces, curriculum, and educators work collaboratively to help children apply their learning to real-world challenges. We aim to instill a lifelong passion for learning, focusing on a holistic approach that prepares children for future educational and life experiences. Our preschool fosters an environment where children are encouraged to learn from one another and engage in meaningful projects that reflect their interests.

We seek a dedicated educator who understands developmental milestones and can create a nurturing atmosphere for exploration and learning. The ideal candidate will promote an authentic learning experience through project-based methodologies that integrate the arts with essential educational concepts, fostering engagement and enhancing comprehension in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Candidates should inspire curiosity and present learning as an adventure, while building strong relationships with students and leveraging the benefits of small group interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design age-appropriate lesson plans that align with state standards and early childhood principles.
  2. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration.

  5. Facilitate the development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in students.
  6. Utilize various data sources for effective planning.
  7. Manage classroom dynamics and student behavior.

  9. Maintain an attractive, safe, and conducive learning environment.
  10. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
  11. Commit to Responsive Classroom practices and foster a culturally competent learning community.
  12. Embrace principles of project-based learning.
  13. Build positive relationships with students and the school community.
  14. Deliver integrated thematic lessons aligned with early childhood standards.
  15. Employ diverse instructional strategies to cater to varied learning needs.
  16. Develop and implement daily lesson plans addressing students' learning gaps.
  17. Adapt and enhance the existing curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  18. Implement effective classroom management strategies.
  19. Supervise students consistently.
  20. Incorporate technology to support educational instruction.
  21. Work collaboratively as part of a team, clearly defining roles and responsibilities.
  22. Provide support for unique student circumstances.
  23. Embrace a holistic approach to service delivery.
  24. Communicate effectively with team members through active listening and reflection.
  25. Encourage accountability among team members to enhance student effectiveness.
  26. Involve parents and significant others in the educational process.
  27. Document compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements in a timely manner.
  28. Demonstrate proficiency in technology for documentation and communication.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a 90-hour Preschool Certification or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate in Preschool.
  • Completion of a 9-hour communication course is required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Must meet all Maryland Office of Child Care Licensing requirements for Preschool Teacher status.
  • A minimum of one year of experience or equivalent education/training in a childcare or preschool setting is preferred.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available.
