Responsibilities
  • Treatment Room Preparation: Prepare and properly set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Patient Charting and Progress: Review and update patient health history, chart progress, treatments, and home care compliance, providing accurate and detailed records.
  • Fluoride Application and Dental Decay Prevention: Apply fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay, assessing and evaluating patients through exams, patient records, and medical history to assist in diagnosis.
  • Periodontal Disease Recognition and Charting: Recognize early signs of periodontal disease, chart restorations, and note areas of concern, providing critical information for treatment planning.
  • Treatment Planning and Patient Education: Develop and present treatment plans, educating and motivating patients on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventative measures.
  • Hygiene Examination Assistance: Assist the doctor in hygiene examinations, providing support and expertise to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.
  • Scheduling and Instrument Maintenance: Schedule appropriate re-care appointments and maintain hygiene handpieces and instruments in good repair and sufficient supply, adhering to strict safety guidelines and procedures.
