Key Responsibilities
  • Referral Processing: Monitor and manage referrals to ensure timely and accurate processing, adhering to strict turnaround timeframes.
  • Data Accuracy: Verify the completeness of referral forms, obtain missing demographic information, and perform initial coding attempts for uncoded referrals.
  • Authorization Accuracy: Meet accuracy standards for authorizing referrals at the UM Coordinator level.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service, representing AppleOne professionally while answering calls for the Utilization Management Department.
  • Provider Communication: Collaborate with Utilization Management Nurses to communicate with providers regarding authorizations, modifications, denials, and other relevant matters.
  • Support Management: Assist management and Utilization Management Nurses as needed to ensure department goals are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a data entry specialist or coordinator.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in ICD-9/10 and CPT coding is required.
  • Experience in managed care or a physician's office is a must.
  • Strong skills in computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
