Job Summary:

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, handling patient and physician requests, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct phone calls, handle patient and physician requests, and provide excellent customer service
  • Respond to written correspondence from patients and/or referring physician offices
  • Independently resolve issues when necessary
  • Fax and mail requested reports to referring physicians
  • Deliver slides to in-house physicians
  • Assist pathologists with special requests
  • Maintain records and generate reports
  • Distribute pathology reports via mail, faxes, and EMR
  • Research pending and incomplete cases and communicate with management

Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED and 1+ years of advanced clerical/secretarial experience in an office setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
