Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious student to join our Research and Development team as a Global Applications, Snacks, Bakery & Confectionary Intern. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a well-defined research project that connects consumer insights and unmet customer needs to developing ingredient technology for snacks and bakery products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the progression of a research project by operating laboratory equipment safely and with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to guidelines for good housekeeping and safety.
  • Conduct searches on prior art, current technology, and competitive activity, summarizing the outcomes in a report.
  • Present project status, updates, and outcomes to the team and key partners.
  • Perform laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis, and interpret results to make recommendations to the project team.
  • Coordinate, summarize, and report data generated from experiments.
  • Record data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases as appropriate.
  • Present research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects.
Requirements
  • Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field with laboratory research experience.
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written technical communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software applications, such as MS Office.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the facility each work day.
