Critical Care Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Float Pool team at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in critical care nursing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a critical care setting
- Utilize the nursing process to provide evidence-based care, incorporating technology and therapeutic interventions as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health and wellness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- ASN/ADN from an accredited program, with the ability to obtain BSN from an accredited program within four years of hire, unless possessing a minimum of 15 years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting
- Current Colorado RN license or compact license, with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, with ACLS/NRP/PALS certification as appropriate for unit or service
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an ICU setting
- Two years of nursing experience
- One year of critical care experience, including ICU or ED
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
