Job Title: Software Development Specialist

Job Summary:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications for large-scale operational systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to software solutions with proficient knowledge of software engineering and practical knowledge of project management.
  • Design, develop, and test software applications for large-scale operational systems.
  • Develop automated tests for deploying software through release pipeline.
  • Implement containerization and orchestration technologies on existing software projects.
  • Work under general supervision and may be responsible for entire projects or processes within team.
  • Communicate with contacts within and outside of own department and may occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years of software development experience or graduate degree with at least 2 years of software development experience. In lieu of degree, 8 years of software experience.
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes or Openshift).
  • Experience developing and deploying software using a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience with Agile software development and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience utilizing Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket).

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and developing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with SDA Radars.
  • Experience developing object-oriented software using Java in Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems.
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

L3Harris Technologies offers a competitive salary range of $78,000 - $145,000, as well as a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
