Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Multi-Cloud Platforms: Proven experience in deploying web-based applications across various cloud platforms, with a primary focus on GCP, followed by AWS and Azure.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Background in an SRE role, preferably in a B2C context, focusing on data accessibility for external client intranet sites, including messaging and transactions, ideally utilizing Google Cloud Platform.
  • Cloud Security: Experience in initiating and managing security services and tools across multiple cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on GCP security tools.
  • DevOps: Familiarity with GCP and other environments, ensuring website reliability and providing a robust platform for software engineers to code and test. Key competencies include:
    • Configuration management using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
    • Containerization and workflow management with tools like Docker; experience with Kubernetes (including Helm).
    • Setting up automated scripts and routines in a CI/CD software development environment.
    • Ability to work with both legacy and modern technologies within SRE and DevOps to maintain high availability for customer sites and support software coding infrastructure initiatives.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as ongoing interaction with external clients will be a regular aspect of this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar position within an enterprise software company with multiple iterations of similar software applications.
  • GCP training or certification.
  • Prior experience in roles involving coding, website administration, source code control, release management, and/or configuration management.
  • Familiarity with GitHub.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Nginx load balancer for SRE, Varnish (or other caching tools), Terraform, and Hashicorp.
