Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist II-IV to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a valuable member of our laboratory team, you will provide clinical services to our patient population and maintain specific knowledge of safe laboratory practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure proper instrument performance.
  • Adhere to all quality control policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer protocols as assigned.
  • Perform high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing using both manual and automated methods.
  • Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
  • Actively engage in continuing education to enhance the department.
  • Interact in a professional manner with nursing staff, physicians, support staff, peers, and other members of the hospital community.
Qualifications

Required:

  • NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with 0-2 years demonstrated relevant experience.
  • NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with 3-5 years demonstrated relevant experience.
  • NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with a minimum 6 years demonstrated relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Generalist with a strong background in Hematology and Chemistry.
  • ASCP Certification.
  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Biological or Life Sciences.
  • Master's Degree.
