Project Architect

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Architect to join our team at Steinberg Hart. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for guiding design teams through the design and technical development and refinement of projects, as well as managing all technical documentation through each phase of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design teams through the design and technical development and refinement of projects
- Manage all technical documentation through each phase of construction
- Develop solutions through technical and design refinement
- Conduct on-site observations and prepare observation reports
- Conduct project close-out efforts, including punch lists, certificate of occupancy, and certificate of substantial completion
- Manage all technical documentation, including proposal requests, change orders, and revisions to project scope
- Direct relationship with clients on some projects, including scoping project, developing proposals, negotiating services, and other project needs
- Function as project leader, manage small teams, and handle project management tasks, such as staffing, fee estimating, and scheduling
Requirements:
- Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in technical and design production
- Knowledge of DoD standards for technical document production
- Degree in Architecture, preferably at the graduate level, or related field or equivalent experience
- License to practice architecture in California, LEED AP preferred
- Proficiency in relevant computer software, including Revit, 3D Studio max, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to demonstrate full knowledge of industry practices and a proven track record of quality control on progressively more complex and diverse assignments
- Substantial experience in construction document preparation and field observation, knowledge of building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as time management skills
- Solid judgment based on precedent and policy in the development of a recommended course of action
- Understanding of risk management elements in all phases of the project
- Thorough understanding of sustainable practices, industry, and DoD standards
