Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing intricate supervisory tasks that ensure optimal department performance on a daily basis. This role involves directing maintenance personnel, ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork, and maintaining a safe working environment. The supervisor will also monitor and manage the installation, operation, maintenance, and modification of plant facilities and equipment, with a focus on enhancing production efficiency while minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead training initiatives for team members in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair.
- Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and guide associates in the assembly, disassembly, and installation of industrial machinery during repairs and modifications.
- Communicate company policies to staff and enforce safety standards rigorously.
- Propose improvements in working conditions and equipment usage to boost efficiency.
- Develop motivational strategies to help associates meet organizational objectives.
- Conduct specialized training programs for associates on specific machinery.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to equipment repair and modifications, providing support to associates and contractors.
- Interpret technical specifications and job orders for team members and external contractors, adjusting work procedures as necessary to meet production timelines.
- Recommend enhancements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality through collaboration with management and supervisors.
- Plan and budget for facility modifications, including cost estimates and contract management.
- Manage scheduling for personnel and project teams, including external contractors.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by plant management.
- Experience in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical industries is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years in the Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical sectors, along with a four-year degree from an accredited institution.
