A mechanical engineer is needed to work in a turkey processing facility. The engineer will apply knowledge of engineering principles to install, conduct routine preventive maintenance, and repair complex industrial production machinery. The engineer will also analyze performance results and maintain equipment in a 675,000 square foot facility processing over 17 million turkeys each year.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor equipment and diagnose problems
Perform timely repairs and routine maintenance on mechanical equipment
Interpret work orders and specifications to determine if machines and equipment require replacement, repair, or general maintenance
Carry out routine inspections of equipment and systems
Recognize and diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective action
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
Ability to solve problems using theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills
Basic computer skills
Bilingual ability in both spoken and written Spanish and English
Work Environment:
The employee will work in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee must be able to work at heights up to 130 feet and wear fall protection as necessary. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
