1. Conduct thorough research on various topics, compiling statistics and relevant information to report findings that encompass the full scope of programs or functions.
2. Monitor, assess, and evaluate operational workflows and their interconnections with other functions, identifying redundancies or systemic challenges, and providing insights to senior analysts or supervisors.
3. Ensure the integrity of controls by verifying their completeness, thereby guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
4. Update and revise procedures, guidelines, and controls in response to changes in higher-level directives or as directed by analysts or similar roles.
5. Prepare comprehensive memoranda, preliminary reports, and visual representations of findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Nationals and provide proof of citizenship. Additionally, a successful completion of a background investigation, including a fingerprint check, is required.
Experience:
Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal Service. Relevant experience includes:
- Performing technical support in management and program analysis, identifying issues and researching specific topics.
- Gathering pertinent statistics and reporting findings while recommending corrective actions.
- Monitoring and evaluating operations and workflows, identifying redundancies or systemic issues.
- Utilizing database or spreadsheet software for data management tasks.
Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in typing with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute, based on a 5-minute sample with minimal errors. Additionally, candidates should possess office automation skills necessary for the role.
Education:
For those qualifying through education, a copy of transcripts or equivalent documentation must be submitted. An official transcript will be required upon selection.
Additional Information:
This position is subject to a one-year probationary period. Salary payments will be directed to a financial institution of the candidate's choice via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. The agency may select candidates from this announcement or other sources to fill one or more vacancies. This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Work Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Alternative work schedules or telework options may be available.
Telework Eligibility:
While this position may be eligible for telework, participation is contingent upon meeting IRS telework requirements and obtaining supervisor approval.
