Job Title: Instructional Systems Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer to join our team at Guidehouse. As an Instructional Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality training programs and materials for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training programs and materials that meet the needs of our clients
  • Develop instructional design models and theories to shape and guide the development and delivery of training assets
  • Evaluate existing training programs and blended learning implementation strategies to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and design control methods to ensure the effectiveness of training programs
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and deliver training programs and materials

Requirements:

  • Active and current Top Secret/SCI federal security clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in eLearning, Communications, or related field; or four years' relevant experience may be used in lieu of degree
  • Ten or more years' experience developing high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance-learning, and instructor-led training
  • Familiarity with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, PowerPoint, SnagIt, and the Microsoft suite of office software
  • Deep knowledge of learning design principles, writing for training purposes, and creating engaging content to illustrate basic to complex concepts and processes for adult learners
  • Highly organized self-starter mentality, with ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines with flexibility
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with all levels of project teams
  • Strong time management skills and ability to transition easily between projects, meetings, and topics
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Above average writing skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of methods and possess expertise in developing courseware for a variety of communication delivery methods including instructor-led training (ILT) and web-based training (WBT), and also evaluating already in place courseware to measure its effectiveness
  • Strong understanding of ADDIE, SAM, and other instructional design models and the ability to apply them to the context
  • Ability to relate well to different personalities while maintaining high customer-centric outlook
  • Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of 508 accessibility and compliance
