AllSTEM Connections is seeking a skilled professional with robust knowledge of AWS and experience in managing Big Data migrations and operations utilizing SQL queries through scheduling tools such as Control-M and R-Flow. While comprehensive expertise in all areas is not mandatory, the ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in these critical domains and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and troubleshoot batch processes.

We are in search of a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a specialization in AWS and Big Data. The perfect candidate will have a profound understanding of overseeing data pipelines within AWS, coupled with experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting batch jobs. Although extensive expertise in every facet is not essential, a strong grounding in AWS, Big Data, and associated tools is vital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • AWS Pipeline Management: Apply your AWS expertise to oversee and store data in pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing and storage. Your focus will be on AWS-related tasks rather than Java development.
  • Big Data Handling: Utilize your foundational to intermediate knowledge of Big Data to assist in data migration processes and manage data pipelines established in AWS. You will work on data migration strategies to ensure seamless and efficient data flow.
  • Scheduler Tools: Employ Control-M and R-Flow to manage and monitor batch jobs, ensuring they operate as intended. This includes configuring schedules, tracking job performance, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Batch Job Support: Provide continuous support for batch jobs, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and understanding data movement between systems. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that batch processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Spark: While not mandatory, a basic understanding of Spark is advantageous, as it will assist in managing data processing tasks.
  • SQL and Data Management: Utilize SQL queries to oversee and monitor data as part of your responsibilities with scheduling tools, ensuring data integrity and performance across all systems.

Required Skills:

  • AWS Expertise: Strong knowledge of AWS, particularly in managing and storing data in pipelines. Experience with AWS tools and services in a data management context is essential.
  • Big Data Understanding: Basic to intermediate understanding of Big Data concepts, especially in relation to data migration and pipeline management within AWS.
  • Scheduler Tools: Practical experience with Control-M and R-Flow for managing and monitoring batch jobs.
  • Batch Job Troubleshooting: Experience in supporting and troubleshooting batch jobs, with an understanding of data flow between different systems.
  • SQL Skills: Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data management and monitoring purposes.
  • Spark (Optional): Basic knowledge of Spark is a plus but not required.
