Cardiovascular Recovery Nurse

Position Summary
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Cardiovascular Recovery Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional nursing care in alignment with the established protocols of Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. This position not only involves direct patient care but also encompasses supervision and mentorship of junior staff, ensuring high standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions tailored to each patient's needs.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate optimal treatment strategies.
- Participate in cross-training for various departments, including the Hybrid OR and EP Lab, to enhance skill sets and improve patient outcomes.
- Be available for on-call duties as required, ensuring readiness to respond to patient needs at all times.
Qualifications
Licensure and Certifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas or a Compact State.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Nursing is required.
- At least two years of experience as a registered nurse is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient in reading and writing basic English, with the ability to comprehend and execute physician orders accurately.
- Capable of lifting and moving patients, with assistance as necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledgeable in critical care medications and their appropriate dosages.
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring techniques and intra-aortic balloon pumping.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and teamwork skills to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Exemplary critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Possession of CCRN or Cardiac Specialty Nursing Certification is advantageous.
