Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting the nursing staff in our hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including obtaining pre and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access condition.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and changes in condition.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment, including preparing laboratory specimens as prescribed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify and report patient safety issues and ensure a clean and safe patient environment.
  • Support the orientation of new employees and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to Memorial Hermann's policies, procedures, and standards, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
Requirements
  • Prior patient care experience is required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support or Heartsaver CPR with AED within 90 days of employment is preferred.
  • Graduate of a foreign nursing program with nursing credentials/licensure in country of origin or completion of a Medical Assistant training program (Certification or Registration preferred) is preferred.
