Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team at The Susan Horak Group. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. Your duties will include preparing and examining accounting records, owner's statements, tenant ledgers, property-based financial statements, and other financial reports. You will also be responsible for reconciling multiple bank accounts, reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies, reconciling general ledger account balances, and reporting analysis and findings to the management team. Additionally, you will interface with clients and vendors regarding accounting matters, develop and analyze financial reporting for business operations and budgets, and perform audits to ensure adherence to quality standard requirements. If you have a 4-year Accounting degree and previous experience in accounting (5+ years) or other related fields, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. You should be proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivation and self-direction are essential for this role, as well as time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, owner's statements, tenant ledgers, property-based financial statements, and other financial reports
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Reconcile general ledger account balances
  • Report analysis and findings to the management team
  • Interface with clients and vendors regarding accounting matters
  • Develop and analyze financial reporting for business operations and budgets
  • Perform audits, ensuring adherence to quality standard requirements
  • Create new processes to improve financial effectiveness and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 4 year Accounting degree
  • Previous experience in accounting (5+ years) or other related fields
  • Previous experience in the reconciliation of credit cards
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to multitask
