Key Responsibilities- Register patients, answer phone calls, and prepare the office for the day
- Schedule patient appointments, collect payment, and post charges and payments
- Balance daily transactions, reconcile encounters, and prepare deposit slips
- Facilitate physician requests, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA guidelines
- Assist with front office duties, including maintaining office equipment and supplies
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position
- Proven success asking for payment, making change, and balancing a cash drawer
- Working knowledge of basic managed care terminology and practices
- Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments effectively
This role requires frequent contact with patients, working under stressful conditions, and exposure to bodily fluids. The ideal candidate will be comfortable dealing with conflicts and asking patients for money.
