Title: Server Assistant

Work Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Reports to: Assistant General Manager or General Manager

Position Overview: The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by supporting servers in various tasks, including pre-bussing, delivering water to patrons, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in preparing the dining area by arranging tables and setting up decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  2. Respond to additional guest needs by proactively inquiring and observing the dining experience.
  3. Maintain table settings by clearing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being attentive to spills or special requests.
  4. Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as necessary.
  5. Provide a welcoming phone greeting and adhere to guest ordering protocols.
  6. Communicate menu details over the phone to guests and provide accurate delivery time estimates.
  7. Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by a supervisor.
  8. Assist with special events as required.
  9. Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  10. Address customer service issues promptly and refer to management when necessary.

Job Requirements:

  1. Ability to clearly communicate guest needs to bussers, managers, and other staff.
  2. Must be able to hear well in a busy environment to respond to guest requests and answer the phone.
  3. Capability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
  4. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe surfaces.
  5. Must articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests.
  6. Ability to understand requests for assistance.
  7. Must be able to carry trays or supplies.
  8. A desire to assist wherever needed and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  9. A passion for delivering exceptional service.
  10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  11. A willingness to learn and appreciate great food.
  12. Flexibility to work various shifts.
  13. Strong guest relations skills.
  14. Ability to remain focused and alert for extended periods.
  15. Ability to work effectively within a team.

Qualifications:

  1. Positive attitude and outlook.
  2. Commitment to teamwork.
  3. Excellent oral communication skills.
  4. Customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
