Position OverviewRole Summary

Introduction:

This specialized position focuses on performing both standard and advanced echocardiograms for congenital heart anomalies, stress echocardiograms, and assisting physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE's). The patient population includes individuals from infancy to young adulthood. Echo sonographers are required to have exceptional skills in managing pediatric patients with various medical and psychosocial challenges. Key attributes include patience, empathy, a technology-oriented approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to follow specific protocols accurately.

Our facilities offer a wide range of specialized services, including orthopedic and surgical care, intensive care, women's health, neonatal services, extensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to surgical interventions, vascular laboratory services, sleep studies, emergency care, and rehabilitation.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Exhibit proficiency in relevant competencies: Self-Leadership, Team Leadership, or Executive Leadership.
· Conduct routine echocardiograms to assess potential cardiac defects or conditions.
· Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms.
· Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate coronary artery health.
· Communicate exam findings to physicians and conduct regular inventory assessments for necessary supplies.
· Demonstrate competence in delivering patient care services tailored to specific age and developmental needs.
· Modify assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique requirements of patients based on their age or developmental stage.
· Uphold the Core Values of CHRISTUS Health.
· Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program or an equivalent approved educational background is required.
  • Preferred experience of two years in the Cardiology field.
  • Experience in stress testing is beneficial.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.

Work Schedule:

10AM - 7PM, 8-Hour Shifts
