Crew Chief Job Description

Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced Crew Chief to lead our surveying team in Rochester, NY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of field surveying, including construction stakeout, topographical surveys, preliminary boundary analysis, and as-built surveys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field surveying tasks, including construction stakeout, topographical surveys, preliminary boundary analysis, and as-built surveys, using advanced surveying equipment and technology.
  • Conduct field calculations and sketches, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain and care for company equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly secured.
  • Supervise and motivate instrument operators, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, representing the company professionally and positively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role, with a strong background in surveying.
  • CAD experience a plus.
  • High School Diploma and strong math and computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and expand skillsets.
  • Highly proficient in field coding and able to complete additional certifications, such as OSHA and Hazwoper.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Demands:

The Crew Chief will work in the field with the survey crew, often in busy streets or construction sites. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for 8+ hours a day. Exposure to all weather conditions.
