Crew Chief Job Description

Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced Crew Chief to lead our survey crew in Rochester, NY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of field surveying, including construction stakeout, topographical surveys, and as-built surveys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field surveys using advanced equipment such as Trimble/Leica/Spectre robotic total stations, data collectors, and 3D laser scanners.
  • Perform calculations and sketches, ensuring accuracy and precision in all survey documents.
  • Maintain and manage company equipment and vehicles, ensuring proper safety precautions are in place.
  • Supervise and motivate instrument operators, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders, representing the company in a professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role, with a strong background in surveying and geospatial technology.
  • CAD experience a plus, with proficiency in field coding and data collection.
  • High School Diploma and strong math and computer skills, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work overtime as needed.
