Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transit Operations Manager to join our team at the City of Albuquerque, NM. As a key member of our Transit Department, you will be responsible for supervising, planning, and coordinating motor coach route and paratransit activities and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate motor coach route and paratransit activities and operations
  • Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public
  • Provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Transit Manager/Operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
  • Develop and implement effective operational strategies to improve service delivery
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field
  • Five (5) years of transit operator or transportation management experience
  • One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license
  • Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with a Passenger (P) endorsement within a two-week period from completion of City CDL training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Operations, services, and activities of a motor coach and paratransit program
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation
  • Modern and complex principles and practices of operating bussing equipment
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping
  • Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations
