Transit Operations Coordinator

Job Summary
As an Assistant Transit Supervisor with the City of Albuquerque, you will play a key role in the planning and coordination of Motorcoach and Paratransit activities and operations within the Operations Division of the Transit Department. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the coordination of assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public, as well as providing support to Transit Supervisors. You will also be responsible for monitoring compliance of drivers' duties and documentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and coordination of Motorcoach and Paratransit activities and operations

- Monitor compliance of drivers' duties and documentations
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business
- Three (3) years of transit operator experience
- Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire
- Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire
- Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with a Passenger (P) endorsement within a three (3) week period from completion of City CDL training
- Must be able to maintain CDL once obtained
- Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and required drug testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Fixed route bus/paratransit operations, services, and activities
- Motorcoach/paratransit principles and practices of operating bus equipment
- Principles and procedures of record keeping
- Principles of basic report preparation
- Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- Work in, maintain, and contribute effectively to team activities and duties
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Supervise, organize, and review the work of lower-level staff
- Assist in the selection, supervision, training, and evaluation of staff
- Explain City policies and procedures
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those in contact with in the course of work, including City officials and the general public
