Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Advocate to join our team at Wayside Recovery Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting women and families in their recovery journey.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to clients in their daily functions, setting boundaries and educating them about facility rules.
  • Supervise client activities and respond to emergencies, effectively managing crisis situations.
  • Record client data and information accurately, ensuring all essential tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Administer medication as the med key holder and collect urine specimens for drug screens and breathalyzer tests.
  • Complete admission and discharge procedures with clients, charting and documenting necessary information in our electronic health record system.
  • Role model behavior consistent with and supportive of people in recovery from substance use disorder, upholding ethical standards and reliable attendance.
  • Maintain confidential client records and perform other routine support tasks, including filing, photocopying, and answering telephone calls.
  • Transport clients as needed and attend medication administration training to pass meds with RN approval.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and computer skills essential.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong attention to detail, thinking capabilities, and humor welcome.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and relate to women of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must be able to pass DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations.
  • A valid Minnesota driver's license with a good driving record.
  • No DUIs in the last three years; no more than three moving violations/accidents in the past three years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mental health, trauma-informed care, and gender-responsive care.
  • Experience working with families and/or pregnant and parenting women.
  • Experience working in a 24-hour behavioral setting.
  • Knowledge and experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including health, dental, and vision benefits, company-paid long-term and short-term disability, and life insurance. You will also be eligible for a shift differential and paid semi-monthly.
