Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated individual to fulfill the role of Academic Coach/Mentor within the School of Nursing. This position is designed for a recent graduate of the Nurse-Midwife program who is passionate about supporting fellow students in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic assistance to students enrolled in the Nurse Midwifery program, focusing on their unique learning needs.
  • Utilize virtual platforms to deliver support, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all students.
  • Assist students in mastering essential concepts and excelling in specialized midwifery topics through tailored coaching.
  • Implement effective study strategies and time management techniques to enhance student performance.
  • Evaluate academic progress and collaborate with faculty to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop educational materials and practice exercises that align with the curriculum and support course objectives.
  • Foster open communication with students, faculty, and support services to create a supportive academic environment.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience is required.
  • Preferred: AMCB midwifery certification.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in utilizing various teaching methods to convey information effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet student needs.
  • Competence in using technology for virtual tutoring sessions.

Work Status: Part-Time

Hours Per Week: 19.5
