Position Summary:
We are in search of enthusiastic and sociable individuals with excellent communication abilities who are dedicated to environmental protection and making a tangible impact. As Outreach Coordinators, you will play a crucial role in nurturing CCE's relationships with our members, which is essential for the success of our initiatives. Your responsibilities will include engaging with members through calls to inform, fundraise, and mobilize them around pressing environmental and public health issues. No prior experience is required; we offer a comprehensive two-week paid training program where you will gain insights into our campaigns and fundraising techniques. This position is particularly suitable for current college students or recent graduates eager to enter the nonprofit sector and kickstart their careers.

Current Initiative:
Horseshoe crabs, existing for over 350 million years, are a vital species within the food web and essential for the survival of various shorebird species. Unfortunately, their populations have significantly dwindled due to commercial fishing practices, placing them at risk of local extinction. Recent legislation has been passed in the New York State Senate and Assembly to prohibit the harvesting of horseshoe crabs for commercial and biomedical purposes, aimed at restoring their populations and protecting dependent species. We are currently advocating for the Governor to enact this legislation into law.

Position Details:
Compensation: $18/hour
Employment Type: Part-time

  • Experience in advocacy, customer service, call centers, or fundraising is a plus.
