Intellectual Property Specialist

Lando & Anastasi, LLP seeks a highly skilled Intellectual Property Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our intellectual property group, you will work closely with senior members of the firm on a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence projects, and general intellectual property counseling.
Key Responsibilities
Review technical disclosures and participate in client interviews to understand new inventions
Search literature and patent databases to determine the patentability of inventions
Draft written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection
Write patent applications
Prepare responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Develop arguments for patentability to Patent Office Examiners
Review patents as part of the IP due diligence for a potential acquisition or merger
May guide, mentor, or be a resource to others
May take on additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
An advanced degree (Master's level) or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science, or a related field, with a background that includes a deep expertise in software including programming, machine learning, networking, process control, and/or other applied technologies.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. The firm currently operates on a hybrid work schedule, but we encourage regularly scheduled presence in the office environment, as we believe this to be an important and expected component of this position.
